Sir Trill’s tweets “What are we working so much for?” sparks outrage from fans and industry critiques

Sir Trill seems to be the latest artist that has come out on social media to vent some frustration about money. A topic that has gripped many artists in Mzansi over the years.

The amapiano star, whose popularity has ballooned extensively over the last few years, took to twitter this morning saying “never been an artist that talks much or exposes much. This will definitely be a joke to some of y’all . Which I understand . But it’s mentally damaging and exhausting . What are we working so much for?”

That first confusing tweet was shortly followed up by: “It’s tiring and mentally damaging. So many hits and I’ve never seen a cent. I’m tired.” , which immediately prompted a widespread reaction from users.

It was his last tweet “thank you to everybody who genuinely supports “SIR TRILL” . This will probably be my last tweet,” that sent the pulpable shockwaves with some assuming the worst while others prompted him to name and shame those who are behind his frustration.

Last December, Sir Trill released his latest album Ghost, and later showed figures of his album clocking 1 546 672 streams in less than 6 hours. It was also within that month that Moja Love’s news platform ZiMoja reported that the singer had secretly welcomed a new baby with another amapiano star Nkosazana Daughter but those allegations are yet to be confirmed or denied.

And while tweeps have expressed great concerned about the muso’s health and state of wellbeing, the independent music distribution company that he is affiliated to Ingrooves Africa has refused to comment about what has transpired, simply saying “no comment” when Frontpage reached out.
