One of the country’s most beloved hip-hop festivals makes a grand return to the stage, Maftown Heights. Known for uniting lovers of hip-hop, Motswako, and local urban culture, Maftown Heights is back with a highly anticipated reunion edition on Friday, 29 November 2024, at the iconic Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg. This year’s festival celebrates a long-awaited reunion of Motswako pioneers and trailblazers and introduces the “NuTswako” artists who are championing the Motswako sound with Maglera Doe Boy holding the baton as this year’s festival curator alongside Khuli Chana.
