Cyan Boujee Takes the High Road Amid Love Triangle with MaWhoo and Kagiso Lerutla
Acclaimed singer-songwriter MaWhoo and controversial DJ and influencer Cyan Boujee have been caught in a publicised love triangle with beleaguered Ekurhuleni city manager Kagiso Lerutla. The pair have been trading sneak disses on social media and addressing each other on Instagram, with the two being involved in a verbal tug-of-war over Lerutla.
The scathing rally between Boujee and MaWhoo has been an ongoing matter over the past weekend, with the two stars trying their hardest to outdo each other.

MaWhoo, on one hand, hasn’t gone live to record videos as Cyan has been doing; however, she has pushed back on Boujee’s claims over Lerutla being a shared lover. From leaked photos of her being cosy with Lerutla to Instagram story posts of the “Kulula” hitmaker having three homes in her name thanks to Lerutla, the amapiano vocalist pile-dumped on Boujee, claiming that she doesn’t do “fake rental apartments” and that whatever connection Cyan had with Lerutla wasn’t legitimate.
Boujee has been much more active in her stance, recording videos and doing lives to refute MaWhoo’s claims that she and Lerutla were in love. Known for her mercurial personality and vigorous decision-making, Cyan even went as far as threatening MaWhoo with a beating should they be booked to perform in the same show.
Cyan on a TikTok rant:
However, Cyan’s latest Instagram post suggests that the influencer has reflected on her ways and the love triangle and ultimately decided to step back. In her recent post on Instagram, Cyan said that she’s “choosing to step away from social media for a while to reflect, grow and focus on the things that truly matter to me.”
“I’ve worked incredibly hard on myself as a person, and I’m disappointed that I allowed one situation to bring out a version of myself I’ve been trying to outgrow.
“I’m choosing to step away from social media for a little while to reflect, grow and focus on the things that truly matter to me. This chapter of my life is incredibly important to me, and I owe it to myself to protect my peace and continue becoming the woman I’ve worked so hard to be,” she said.

Kagiso Lerutla, quiet on the matter, continues to serve as the city manager of Ekurhuleni as he battles legal issues of corruption and fraud uncovered at the Madlanga Commission.
