Zee Nxumalo levels up on Pholile 2.0 ft Mlindo the Vocalist and Azana

Zee Nxumalo is slowly becoming a formidable voice to be reckoned with. From her first single Siyajola to Hamba, that gained significant popularity on Tiktok, The star’s remake of her third song Pholile, recorded under Punchline Media, features Mlindo the Vocalist and Azana – now dubbed as Pholile 2.0

Featuring Mlindo the Vocalist on Pholile 2.0 serves as a full circle moment for Zee, early on in her musical journey, because what marked her beginning within the industry was her cover attempt on the popular Amablesser. The song received so much positive responses from listeners, gaining her fans, although she had not released official music yet.

Pholile 2.0, which is initially a song about healing, took an unexpected turn with the two features and now represents love.

“When that collaboration happened with Mlindo, it marked a very significant step up in my career. Sort of an elevation because they (including Azana) are my very first features in my young career. Five years since my cover, I am blessed to be able to work with Mlindo the Vocalist and I truly believe it was meant to happen like this.

“Working with Azana was equally special because she was present in studio and the songwriting happened together. Our voices blended so easily, not forgetting how amazing she is. Everything just worked out well,” she said.

The remake of Pholile has been doing well and in just two months is sitting on over 300k views on Youtube.

“I didn’t expect such positive responses from the people. It certainly has been overwhelming in a good way. It exceeded my expectations and considering how long it took for us to get it done, it was certainly worth the wait.”

A lot has been happening for the 20-year-old, including bagging her first ever song feature on Zulu Mkhathini second offering from his upcoming solo dance project titled ‘Matariano’. Zee shares her sultry vocals on Shayimoto.

“This is my first feature on someone else’s song. It happened by chance really because someone else was meant to be on it and I was just going to get a small chance on the song. Nothing major. When I got to Zulu Mkhathini’s studio, I did my thing and that expression of my voice bagged me the full feature. Meaning the other artist had to be dropped just like that,” she said giggling.

“I am so grateful that my talent is being recognised. I will be working with a lot of award winning artists moving forward and more music will be released. I am just excited with what’s to come,” she said excitedly.
