Piano People is bringing its amapiano homecoming to South Africa with two major events that place some of the genre’s biggest names at the centre of the celebration. Uncle Waffles will headline the event brand’s Johannesburg debut at Old Park Station on 28 November, while Scorpion Kings will return to Cabo Beach in Cape Town on 30 December for another end-of-year takeover.
For Johannesburg, the occasion marks Piano People’s first event in the city, with Uncle Waffles leading a lineup built around the energy and international reach that have become synonymous with the brand. The Eswatini-born DJ has become one of amapiano’s most recognisable global ambassadors, taking her sound and performance to audiences far beyond the genre’s South African roots. Her headline slot gives the Johannesburg debut a distinctly international edge while bringing one of the scene’s most influential young figures back into the heart of the culture.

Cape Town, meanwhile, will see the return of Scorpion Kings following their headline-making appearance at last year’s Piano People event at Cabo Beach. Their 2025 performance featured an exclusive two-hour set before a surprise appearance from Tyla sent the crowd into a frenzy, with footage from the moment travelling widely across social media and generating millions of views. Their return on 30 December puts the duo at the centre of what is shaping up to be one of Cape Town’s major dance music events of the festive season.
The two-city programme also reflects how far Piano People has travelled since beginning as a series of club events in London.
