KwaZulu-Natal–born Gqom duo, The Incredibles arrive at a new frontier with the release of Through The Fire, a six-track debut EP that documents both the breadth of their creative ambition and the depth of their commitment to a sound most had abandoned. Built over the course of a year, Through The Fire, does not simply occupy a space in the current Gqom resurgence, it helps define what that resurgence is capable of becoming and it arrives with the weight of everything that preceded it.
Recognized for their melodic, vocal-forward approach to Gqom and a refusal to abandon the genre during its quieter period, The Incredibles have built a reputation on consistency and a clear sense of direction. “The idea was to push boundaries without losing the essence,” they explain. “We wanted to show that Gqom can evolve in different ways while still feeling authentic.”

While featured artists brought their own perspectives into each record, Tyson and Adam maintained a guiding presence as executive producers, shaping the direction and ensuring cohesion across the project. “The synergy of the featured artists was important,” they note. “A lot of the songs came together quickly, but everything connected naturally. That energy carried through into the final versions.”

“This is a project that everyone from different places can listen to,” they state. “We’re not just building a fan base, we’re building an Incredible Family.”
