Themba Broly: The reality TV show will show you all facets of my life
Former Big Big brother contestant, Themba Broly is next to bag himself a reality TV show, dubbed Themba: My Inked World.
The 31-year-old who hails from Alexandra promises that the show will not filter anything but reflect all facets of his life from re-building his tattoo business to being a family man. Everything he says he is passionate about.
“The success that I have garnered thus far was everything I ever dreamt of but I never in my wildest dreams thought it would come together this way.
“I remember that I once stating in one of my interviews that I would like a reality TV show, although entering Big Brother was solely to grow my music career and get exposure for my tattoo shop. The reality TV show is a byproduct of everything that has happened since,” he said.
Before entering the Big Brother house, Themba had lost everything after his wendy house tattoo parlor burned down. Now, with a new home partially paid for by his fans, a music EP on streaming services, and a high-profile relationship with BBMzansi season 3 winner, Mphowabadimo, he’s determined to soar to the greatest heights of his life.
In the 10-part show, Themba promises to reflect on who he really is, where he grew up, his battles, love, family, business, their mother, and his ex Nqobile who is still in love with him, also showing how that impacts his relationship with Mpho.
The show will also see DJ Tira make an appearance as Themba’s mentor and producer.
“My show will expose you to me in real life because Big Brother only exposed a very small part of me. It’s time I show my character, my love for my kids and family, my emotional side, and just going through hardship.
Admitting that things in his life have changed, with him moving out of Alexandra and expecting his third child, he comments that he hasn’t really changed from who he’s always been. A man from ekasi with big dreams.
About opening up to the world, he said: “I don’t think there is any reason to hide anything. Since day one, I have always exposed who I am because there has never been reason to hide my true identity. The show will also spotlight the journey of rebuilding the tattoo shop that I am extremely obsessed with.”
Themba, full of tattoos from head to toe, has always been fascinated by art but could not get into any art school due to a lack of finances. Until one day his friend introduced him to tattoos and that’s when he got his first-ever of his son.
“I found tattoos as an alternative way to express my creativity. From then I just got more and more tattoos. On the music side, I working on new music videos, making music connections and just growing my music business.
“I am where I am because of GhostNation and I can never thank them enough. People who took their time to vote for me, root for me, donate their hard earned cash and just support me, leave one wanting to do their best. Just for them. And this is all for GhostNation,” he said.
Themba: My Inked World is set to premiere on Mzansi Magic channel 161 on Friday 3 February at 20h00.
