Track by Track Breakdown
1. Night Owls:
Someone was held up at gunpoint at my local beach parking lot around sunset one day and I imagined myself in that situation. Crime and the common PTSD we suffer from in South Africa because of it, is a daily theme. A negotiation between prey and predator.
2. Forever Fleeting Love:
Self-explanatory tragic love song about something that wants to but cannot exist. (This song will not leave you untouched.)
3. Same Old Mistake (Collaboration with George van der Spuy):
The song and lyrics just sort of happened without planning or overthinking. George van der Spuy and I played with the theme of a relationship where one party wants to change his ways to be a better partner but always falls in the same pattern of self-destruction.

4. Get Back:
Almost like a part 2 of ‘Same Old Mistake’, the song tackles the same relationship struggles from a different angle. Always the final straw but stuck in an abusive cycle.
5. The Wire:
The circus that is life. A balancing act, chemically and emotionally. Existential dance and juggle of trying to find yourself and a purpose for being here.
6. Alone At Last:
Written in lockdown loneliness as a coping mechanism to express the lack of control we have over most things. Misinformation or distrusted truths – it all leaves you wondering about the meaning of life and your role in it.
