Nota Baloyi Responds to Itumeleng Mokaba’s Rape Allegation With Protection Order
Music executive and artist manager Nota Baloyi has issued a protection order against musician, actress, and content creator Itumeleng Bokaba in what is shaping up to be a complex tussle between the two embroiled in an unraveling he-said, she-said battle. This comes after the former Rhythm City star opened a rape case against the self-styled “Authority”.
Itumeleng confirmed, though in disappointment, what polarising social media personality Musa Khawula posted on the 28th of September 2024 about her opening a rape case against Baloyi.
“I know everyone is panicked and concerned right now, but I want to assure you that I’m okay. I was not intending for this information to be leaked, and I am disappointed that Musa Khawula shared it publicly without my consent. This situation happened before the “Mayibabo” saga that made headlines last week, and it is not connected to the issue,” she said on her Instagram.

The “Mayibabo” matter in question ensued on the 27th of September 2024, when Itumeleng posted a video of herself on TikTok, in response to a follower, admitting that she was the backing vocalist behind Kwesta’s smash hit “Mayibabo”. Bokaba’s contribution to the song is mostly remembered for her infectious, child-like vocal performance which made up the song’s chorus.
Controversy brewed when Bokaba alleged that all she ever got out of royalties for the song was a meagre 0.59 cents.
Bokaba said that she’d be keeping off Twitter and letting the law take its course in the matter, stating: “I want to state my case in front of a qualified judge who is educated on the matters of consent, sexual offences, and the psychology of rape.”
With the matter having reached social media virality, screenshots of a protection order Nota filed against Bokaba have been circulating, with the general gist of the contents focused on deterring Bokaba from making further allegations on her social media platform.
This is a developing story.
