NETFLIX PREMIERE FOR ANANT SINGH’S NELSON MANDELA TRIBUTE
As today (05/12/2023) marks 10 years since the passing of Nelson Mandela, streaming service Netflix is set to premier Anant Singh’s documentary feature VIVA MADIBA: A HERO FOR ALL SEASONS, making the film available to audiences throughout Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands for the first time.
Madiba passed on in 2013 and even post his death has still managed to attracts attention not only in South Africa but around the world for his work and achievements. Initially produced as a tribute to Mandela, VIVA MADIBA: A HERO FOR ALL SEASONS is described as a celebration of Nelson Mandela’s epic life and his status as an international icon.
The film takes one on a journey behind the headlines and away from the public eye and looks at Madiba through different lenses: as a loyal friend, a faithful comrade, a trusted confidant, a respected mentor, and a man who has touched and transformed countless lives globally. VIVA MADIBA: A HERO FOR ALL SEASONS tells Nelson Mandela’s life story – his life of struggle, humanity, destiny and greatness is recalled and celebrated by those who knew him best and who worked with him.
The film takes us beyond the political and into the personal realm and features exclusive interviews with politicians, close friends and comrades including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Oliver Tambo, George Bizos, Ahmed Kathrada, Pik Botha, Dorothy Masuka, Nthato Motlana, Cyril Ramaphosa, Helen Suzman, Zolani Mkiva, Jessie Duarte, Francois Pienaar, Sydney Kentridge, Mac Maharaj, Christo Brand and Gill Marcus.
