Double the Star Power! Pamela Mtanga is in Her Prime Time Era with Two New Mzansi Magic Shows
South African television presenter and multimedia personality, Pamela Mtanga, has stepped into an exciting new chapter of her television career, fronting two distinct entertainment shows on Mzansi Magic. VIP Lounge and Elevator Love bring Mtanga back into viewers’ homes every week, following years in which she has built a formidable presence across live broadcasting, entertainment, fashion and digital storytelling.
On VIP Lounge, Mtanga joins musician and presenter Zulu Mkhathini for a glossy, distinctly South African lifestyle and entertainment magazine show. Produced by Homebrew Films, the series opens the doors to celebrity spaces, film and television sets, major cultural events and some of the people shaping contemporary South African culture. From music and fashion to television and the creative industries, VIP Lounge puts Black South African excellence and the stories behind it at the centre of the conversation.

Her second show, Elevator Love, is a reality dating series which takes a playful approach to first impressions, challenging hopeful singles to make a connection during a single elevator ride. As prospective partners pitch themselves to a singleton and their trusted inner circle, the clock is ticking and the stakes are personal. Mtanga guides the encounters, conversations and unexpected decisions that follow.
The two formats offer a compelling contrast: VIP Lounge draws on Mtanga’s instinct for cultural conversation and access, while Elevator Love reveals her warmth, quick wit and ability to connect with people in unscripted moments. Together, they reflect the range of a presenter who is as comfortable interviewing major names in entertainment as she is holding the room in front of a live audience.
To mark the premiere of Elevator Love, Mtanga celebrated at an intimate private watch party at Nook in Sandton on Sunday, 18 October. The gathering brought together members of the production crew, close friends and invited guests, including Siya Bunny and actress Ayakha Ntunja. The celebration offered a personal moment of reflection as Mtanga shared the launch with people from both her private and professional worlds.

“What makes this moment so special is that the shows bring out different sides of me. VIP Lounge taps into my love for entertainment, culture and storytelling, while Elevator Love is playful, spontaneous and so human. It means a lot to return to television in this way, and even more to celebrate it with people who have supported my journey,” expresses Pamela Mtanga.
This new television chapter builds on a track record that includes Massive Music on Channel O, Afrimaxx on The Home Channel and Will He Say Yes? on Honey TV. More recently, Mtanga has co-hosted Miss South Africa 2025 as well as the South African Music Awards (SAMAs) 2025, while also presenting high-profile live events including the TikTok Awards, the DStv Delicious International Food & Music Festival and the South African Film and Television Awards red carpet. Beyond broadcasting, her work spans fashion, Formula 1 storytelling and partnerships with brands including adidas, Mercedes-Benz, Samsung and Vaseline.
