ADO celebrates his return back to Ghana ADO with his latest single “BACK HOME”
MEET ADO, the UK’s Artist, Producer & DJ bringing his own spin of what Afro House is to a new generation
British-Ghanaian entrepreneur and music maker ADO kicks off 2023 with his single release titled ‘BACK HOME’, which goes live across all DSP’s today.
This love letter to his ancestral land is inspired by his move to Ghana and frequent visits to South Africa, which has solidified and nurtured his love for Afro House music.
Afro house is a genre that takes deep influences from the instruments played in the townships of South Africa and continues to influence and inspire popular culture.
And with Ghana’s 66th independence day approaching, this record is his intentional way of marking the occasion.

Championing his Ghanaian roots, his love for Afro House and British South London upbringing, ADO – real name William Adoasi, adds his own influential sound to the Afro – House genre.
The TEDx speaker and philanthropist is inspired by South African Afro House legend: Black Coffee, and is responsible for the banger ‘Get Away’, which has seen over 1M streams in Spotify alone and features UK songbird Shae Universe.
The visuals serve as an ode to Blockbuster hit movie ‘Queen and Slim’, which explores the beauty in trials and tribulations, survival of the fittest and Black Love.
With this new record, his smooth and silky tonality holds ‘Back Home’ together against a backdrop of this spiritual production.
The pulsating beats, soul searching harmonies and the build-up of strings is what makes this record special. The track is produced by ADO, alongside Ghanaian producer Afrolektra who has produced for the likes of R2bees and Sarkodie. ‘Back Home’ is ADO’s take on what Afro House means to him.
The multitalented muso said: “Moving back to Ghana has been a long term goal of mine. Nothing beats home and this record is my personal way of paying homage. Afro house is special. My frequent trips to South Africa – specifically Durban has been life changing. From the DJ’ing, the culture and the music is something from out of this world. My sound is also my way of paying homage to this scene. I’m literally a ‘Son of the soil’. I hope you love this record as much as I do.”
Adding onto the music and TEDx talks, ADO is also a fashion designer and the founder and CEO of innovative watch brand, Vitae London.
Each timepiece purchased through their classic ranges of watches see a child through school for the year. This initiative started in South Africa and has now spread across Zimbabwe, Ghana, Uganda and Nigeria. As we approach the end of the 1st quarter of 2023, ADO intends to finish strong.
Visuals for ‘Back Home’ were shot in Ghana and are set to be released on March 6th, their Independence Day.
