Zodwa Wabantu Arrested!
Musician Zodwa Wabantu got the worst of Women’s Day when she was arrested at 3:00 am for breaking the lockdown curfew.
The star released video footage (seen below) of her arrest on social media while claiming that the police officers involved were bribing her to pay R 5000. Despite trying to show them her work permit, the police officers were only interested in her paying the fine, according to Zodwa.
“Look at the Man that Demanded 5000 on the Road when this Officer ask about our Permit, since he is charging us on Curfew time,We have the permit to Work all time in the media Space not Club. I have other Projects on TV,I was almost home 8 minutes to my house. The lady holding the Phone we were both swearing at each other calling me all the names you call me,” wrote Zodwa, alongside laughing emojis.
In the video, a hostile argument is seen to be taking place between Zodwa, her manager and the police, with one officer seemingly recording Zodwa as she tried to prove her innocence.
Prior to posting the video, Zodwa also shared a video of herself dancing on the table of a club in the early evening.
According to level 3 lockdown regulations which were implemented in late July, night clubs are closed to the public while closing time restaurants, bars, shebeens and taverns is 21:00.
