South African hip-hop steps into a new era today with the release of three lead singles from YONDA WAY VOL. 1:“YONDA,” “Goliwood Living,” and “She Just Wanna Party.” These singles mark the official launch of the YONDA WAY movement and set the stage for the full album arriving January 2026. YONDA WAY VOL. 1 is a bold, collaborative project uniting nine of the country’s most exciting new artists under the creative direction of Zingah and senior producer Tweezy. The artists — Kanekeid, Fistola Inecut, Horid The Messiah, Andy Maveric, Leo Brown, Buzzi Lee, ThatPrettyGirlYongz and Leezy Lindokuhle — were first introduced on Zingah’s breakout interview series YONDR, where their raw talent and unique perspectives caught early attention.

In August 2025 these rising voices entered a high-intensity studio camp, joined by heavyweight contributors, Maglera Doe Boy, Kwesta, Reason, and Priddy Ugly. Over three days, and in the spirit of healthy competition, the collective came out of the camp with 24 original songs with each artist competing to see who would end up on the most tracks. After the camp, Zingah and Tweezy led a month-long post-production process refining the work into a tight 11-track statement that reflects both the evolution of the artists and the intention behind the movement.
To ensure that the project resonated beyond the studio, the team assembled a Sound Council, a youth community of over 250 early listeners who signed up to hear the music before release. Their feedback played a meaningful role in shaping the final direction and reinforced the growing excitement surrounding the project.
“This wasn’t just about making songs,” says Zingah. “It was about building a moment , bringing new voices together, giving them space to express themselves, and creating something that represents where SA hip-hop can go next. The energy in that camp reminded me why this culture matters.”

Momentum around the artists is already building. They delivered a standout performance at Nasty C’s event, winning over the crowd, and will now be performing at NotBenjamin’s StreetFest this Friday, continuing to cement their live presence ahead of the album release.
YONDA WAY VOL. 1 is more than a project, it is a coordinated, deliberate step toward the resurgence of South African hip-hop, grounded in collaboration, youth culture, and a new generation claiming its voice.
