#WillRacismEverEnd: South Africans Disappointed By Racism Scandal Involving the Vice President of Miss World South Africa

The ugly head of racism has reared its head again in South African waters, and citizens are unhappy with the latest developments. At the centre of the latest scandal involving racism is Carolyn Baldwin Botha, the newly-appointed Vice President of Miss World South Africa.

An audio recording surfaced on the evening of 13 July 2023 in which Carolyn allegedly used the K-word while describing the busyness of a mall. “So she was there at nine o’clock, an hour she was supposed to be there, in a kaffir-infested mall,” she can be heard saying in the recording.

Listen to the recording below:

Baldwin Botha was recently promoted to VP of Miss World South Africa. The Miss World South Africa official page wrote on their Instagram, “Miss World South Africa delights in welcoming Carolyn as Vice President, and we can’t wait to crown a worthy winner with you.”

Carolyn hasn’t responded to the allegations as yet, and the Miss World South Africa organisation hasn’t issued a formal statement regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, Mzansi folks were anything but pleased with the audio and took to Twitter to express their displeasure under the hashtag of #WillRacismEverEnd.
