Tyla, Kairo Forbes, and Biko’s Manna Among Those Nominated for Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards
American broadcasting network Nickelodeon released the full list of nominees for this years’ Kids’ Choice Awards, and Tyla has once again garnered more international nods, whilst AKA and DJ Zinhle’s daughter Kairo Forbes as well as singing trio Biko’s Manna scored nominations.
Made to honour the biggest in music, entertainment, sport, and television in a designated calendar year, the Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards aims to honour those involved in these fields as voted for by Nickelodeon viewers worldwide on their official website. This year’s ceremony will be graced by a galaxy of nominations such as Taylor Swift, Margot Robbie. John Cena, Jackie Chan, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, and Cardi B, among others.
Tyla scored three nominations at this year’s edition: Favorite Breakout Artist, Favourite Global Music Star, and Favourite Viral Song for her Grammy-winning single “Water”. In the various categories, the Johannesburg star-turned-globetrotter will be going up against the likes of Coco Jones, Victoria Monet, and Ice Spice. The nominations come off the back of the songstress earning several BET Award nominations ahead for the ceremony later this month in Los Angeles, California.

Another star who will be hoping to bring home the miniature orange flying ship is Kairo Forbes. Recognised under the Favorite African Kidfluencer category, the young star will be looking to emulate her father’s feat, who brought back the award when he was nominated back in 2019.
Biko’s Manna, known for spreading love with their soulful performances and infectious renditions, is also nominated under Favorite African Kidfluencer alongside Kairo. The category will also see Biko’s Manna and Kairo Forbes vie for the award against Dream Catchers Academy, DJ Wysei, and Boluwatife Balogun.

The award ceremony, hosted by the Bikini Bottom’s very own Spongebob Squarepants (as voiced by Tom Kenny) and Patrick Star (brought to life by Bill Fagerbakke), will be held at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, California on the 13th of July 2024.
