Tyla Cancels World Tour Due to Worsening Illness
Grammy-winning Mzansi pop superstar Tyla has dropped a bombshell on her upcoming tour as well as her health status.
Over the past year, since the drop of her magnum opus, “Water”, Tyla has been up and down, catching flights, and trying to keep up with the hype of her international single while trying to capitalise enough on the single’s success by following it up with a debut album. In between the rush and trying to exceed expectations, she’s managed to rake up a Grammy and bag international gigs.
However, not all has been seemingly well for the singer-songwriter.
In her recent post on Instagram, she alerted her fans that not only would she be cancelling her upcoming tours in North America and Europe, but that the reason for the cancellation was health related. The press release statement said: “As much as this is something I would rather have dealt with privately, it’s important that I share what I have to share with you today. For the past year, I’ve been silently suffering with an injury that has tragically worsened. I’ve seen doctors and specialists with high hopes but the pain has only become more agonising as has the severity of the situation.”
The statement also said: “I am absolutely heartbroken to have to say this but as of right now I won’t be able to proceed with the tour.”

With Tyla’s situation now in limbo, the North American and European tours have been scrapped, with fans set to be refunded in the course of time.
Tygers on X commended Tyla for putting her health first and banded together to wish her a speedy recovery
@tylasweetner posted: “I feel so so sorry for Tyla. My heart breaks for her. At this point in her career it’s probably so painful. I’m glad she postponed even tho [SIC] I was so excited to see her. [It’s] so important [that] she’s putting her health first. Love you, Tyla. We’re here for you.”
@EsteeBlu tweeted: “Sad to hear Tyla is unwell but health over everything honestly. Performance related injuries are more common than you think among performing artists. Touring and socialising excessively can induce stress/illness.”
@MashileAyanda said: “Stay strong, and be in good health.”
