The EFF Exodus Continues as Dr Mbuyiseni Ndlozi Tends in His Resignation

The Fighter exodus is still ongoing even in the start of the new year as the Economic Freedom Fighters (the EFF) suffer more resignations, with the latest blow being Dr Mbuyseni Ndlozi.

The EFF announced via a press release that Dr Ndlozi alongside fellow EFF comrade Yazini Tetyana handed in their final notices, officially parting ways with the Red Berets. Not only that, but that the submissions were made in quick succession, following each other by days.

“The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has received the voluntary resignations of Fighter Yazini Tetyana and Fighter Dr. Mbuyiseni Ndlozi as representatives of the EFF in the Parliament of South Africa.

“The voluntary requests to be released from deployment, which were sent to the Secretary General of the EFF consecutively and within days of each other, expressed gratitude to the EFF for the opportunity to serve the organization and the people of South Africa,” said the statement.

The EFF publishing the statement on their official X account:

Dr Ndlozi’s formal abdication from the National Assembly under the fold of South Africa’s fourth largest political party is another devastating blow to the EFF, which has already endured the loss of numerous members, mostly notably their former vice president Floyd Shivambu, who jumped ship to serve under Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto WeSizwe Party as their new Secretary General.

Over the past couple of months, Mbuyiseni has remained respectful to the organisation, throwing his body on the line to defend the EFF against political commentators and journalists whenever they tried to tear into the EFF.

However, Dr Ndlozi’s attitude towards the party stood in stark contrast to that of the CIC of the EFF Julius Malema, who, when asked about Mbuyiseni’s absence from the party’s elective conference last year in December, told off journalists and made it clear that they as an organisation were not there to be answerable to Ndlozi and his actions.

“I’m not responsible for Mbuyiseni Ndlozi. 90% of the people who are here, who are expected to be here, are here, that’s what matters. Whoever is not here, was not supposed to be here from the beginning,” Malema said, when quizzed on Mbuyiseni’s being MIA.

Ndlozi served the EFF from 2014 as a Member of Parliament, and also as the party’s National Spokesperson from 2013 until his resignation in 2020.
