The Nquthu-born 23-year-old student currently studying in Cape Town, whose real name is Akhonamathemba Mbele, walked away with a life-changing R2 million and the admiration of fans across Mzansi.
The grand finale saw the top five housemates—Jojo, Nate, Nsuku, Uyanda, and Sweet Guluva—battling it out for the top spot. And while Sweet Guluva won the grand prize, this season’s runner-up Uyanda took home the hearts of South African, with him emerging as a people’s favourite. Saddened by him coming so agonisingly close to the top spot, his fans, guided by content creator Mandisi Tshingana, campaigned to raise R200 000 for him as a consolation prize. Last time Tshingana updated the public about the funds, they were sitting at R150 000. As near as Uyanda was to winning the prize, he too is set to not return to the real world swinging his arms.
