Songstress Berita Reveals That She & Nota Are No Longer A Couple Following His Comments Referring To Mihlali As “An Object”
Controversial social commentator Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi sent social media into a frenzy following a viral clip from the “Nkululeko n Cultr” podcast where he referred to social media personality Mihlali Ndamase as “an object.”
“They don’t understand that if Mihlali is for sale, that means she’s an object, which means you can kill her if you want to. It’s like buying a dog. You can put it down”, said Nota.
Following condemnation and backlash from multiple social media users, songstress Berita took to Twitter to write an apology to Mihlali, revealing she and Nota were no longer a couple. The singer also revealed that she left their marital home in January of this year, due to Nota’s alleged mental health issues, which took a toll on their marriage.
Berita also revealed that she had refrained from speaking about their relationship because she was worried about her safety.
“I have been quiet because my safety has been a huge concern. This man is extremely irresponsible, reckless and unruly. He simply does not listen to anyone. I do not condone his actions. I cannot even begin to count the numerous times he has erred in his speech,” she wrote.
Nota has since dismissed claims that he and Berita are going through a divorce. In response to Berita’s tweets, Nota said he felt that her former manager Eric Gyimah could be responsible for the Twitter posts because Berita is currently in Zimbabwe and doesn’t have internet access.
