Sol Phenduka Served With Immediate Suspension by Kaya FM
Podcast and Chill co-host and social media personality Sol Phenduka has been served with an abrupt suspension by Johannesburg radio station Kaya 959 FM, with the suspension being effective immediately.
Details surrounding the sudden benching of the presenter remain shrouded in mystery, with the radio station’s press statement, released on the 20th of August 2025 making no explicit statements concerning Sol being suspended. According to the media release, Phenduka has been put on hold by the station due to an “internal process”.
“Kaya 959 confirms that presenter Sol Phenduka has been placed on suspension with immediate effect, pending the outcome of an internal process. We want to assure all staff that the matter is being handled with fairness, sensitivity and due process.

“At this stage, no further details can be shared, but we will keep you informed as soon as there are developments. We appreciate your professionalism and understanding during this period. Our focus remains on maintaining stability across the station and continuing to deliver the highest quality of programming for our listeners,” the statement said.
Nothing concerning the internal investigation has been revealed thus far. However, DJ Fresh reportedly alluded to Minnie’s lawsuit against Podcast and Chill, alleging that the suspension had something to do with it.
Besides the investigation by Kaya being kept under wraps, Sol is also in the middle of a lawsuit, with actress and TV presenter Minnie Dlamini behind the legal attack for the defamatory remarks made against her earlier this year on an episode of Podcast and Chill alongside his partner on the mic, MacG.
