SABC2 PARTNERS WITH THE BASADI IN MUSIC AWARDS
SABC2 has been announced, today, as the channel to partner up with the 2023 Basadi in Music Awards. Founded by an entertainment entrepreneur and public relations doyenne, Hloni Modise – Matau, the awards ceremony hopes to honour and celebrate female talent within the music and entertainment industry. The talent celebrated is made up of musicians and other practitioners within this sphere including journalists, producers, visual artists and entertainment TV and radio presenters. The awards are a great platform to showcase what women can achieve when they get together for a similar cause.
According to a SABC 2 statement, the Basadi In Music Awards presents a prime opportunity for the channel to align itself with a movement that represents the brand’s principles of community as well as catering to a multigenerational audience.
“BIMA is about celebrating a community of women and further recognizes women of all ages, all of which are themes that are central to SABC 2’s brand ethos. The property primely sits in August which aptly allows SABC 2 the opportunity to observe and celebrate Women’s month,” read the statement.
The awards will take place this coming Saturday, August 12th, 2023, and will be hosted by seasoned television presenter and reality star Khanyi Mbau.
This year, the Basadi In Music Awards introduced new categories which include the Basadi in Music In Africa, Reggae Artist of the Year and Nando’s Emerging Artist of the Year.
