Numbers Don’t Lie: Penny Ntuli Brings Numbers to Jozi FM and Is Thankful For the Support

What could’ve been the darkest hour for radio presenter Penny Ntuli’s career has turned out to be a crowning moment as the social media personality not only finds safety in the refuge of her followers but also in her new home Jozi FM.

Shortly after making the announcement on the socials on the 1st of April, Penny made her Jozi FM debut with her newest show called Mid-Morning Chat that starts at 9Am to 12PM, from Monday to Friday. The hours stand in sharp contrast to the offer she walked away from at Gagasi FM, which was a graveyard shift that saw her going on air in the wee hours of the day on Sundays.

Since joining the Gauteng-based community radio station, the transition has had an apparent effect on the radio station’s following, particularly on Facebook, where the likes on their official Facebook page jumped over the 100K mark – before, the station had less than 40K.

Penny noted the support and took to her Facebook and said: “Yesterday I experienced what the term “Hlangana Zulu” means. I felt like nihambe nami nayeGoli. I’m so grateful ezinye izinto empilweni yami zenzeka phambi kwenu. Ngyawa ngyavuka ngyazama phambi kwenu and kuzolunga. When I saw comments saying MaPenniza , 2,8 elihle I knew ohh kanti nikhona and nilalele. Ngyabonga.”

Fans of Penny Ntuli aired their feelings on X, gathering to lift up Penny and Jozi FM.

@visse_ss commented: “2.8 FM missed out on a gem. Shout out to Jozi FM for prioritizing talent jealous[y]. They didn’t appreciate her excellent English at Gagasi. She now hosts the “Morning Chat” show on 105.8 Jozi FM from Mon-Fri 9am-12pm.”

@TheRealMotase said: “She’s so good. I hope she makes it BIG.”
