NS IMPACT FOUNDATION’S #TIMEFORCHANGE DONATES LIMITED EDITION PROCEEDS TO GREEN DOOR

NS IMPACT FOUNDATION’S #TIMEFORCHANGE DONATES LIMITED EDITION PROCEEDS TO GREEN DOOR

Through an exclusive partnership with Era by DJ Zinhle and Superbalist.com, philanthropic organisation – NS Impact Foundation has donated sale proceeds from their #TimeforChange limited edition watch to Green Door Shelter in Diepsloot.

December saw charitable organisation, NS Impact Foundation, raise funds through their #TimeforChange, anti-Gender-Based Violence campaign to highlight 16 days of Activism. Moving beyond 16 Days of Activism, the Foundation has proudly donated over R20 000 to safety shelter Green Door in Diepsloot.

Handing over the raised funds at an intimate and educational ceremony held at the safe haven Green Door, NS Impact Foundation further announced its ongoing commitment to fight gender equality and the continuation of the campaign – #TimeforChange, through its partnership with Era by DJ Zinhle and online fashion retailer Superbalist.com.

Led by founder Brown Lekelele in Johannesburg, Green Door is a non-profit organisation that offers temporary shelter to victims of gender-based violence for the community of Diepsloot. During the handover proceedings this week, Brown spoke to the women and children of Diepsloot informing them on what domestic violence looks like in the home as well as sharing insights on the steps victims can take should they be violated in or outside their homes. Reiterating the purpose behind Green Door, Brown and his team advised the community on the counselling and support to all affected by gender-based violence freely available at the safe haven.

Presenting the cheque of R24 000 to Brown Lekelele, NS Impact Foundation CEO Nosipho Fakude had this to say to the attending group in Diepsloot, “Our core belief, value and daily mantra at NS Impact Foundation is to aid those less fortunate by doing a good deed a day. We’re encouraging communities to come together with organisations to assist those in need, fight gender equality, stand against gender-based violence, tackle hunger and back the educationally impoverished.”

Highlighting the effects of gender-based violence; in particular on women and children – Fakude went on to add, “The country is currently facing an on-going battle against gender-based violence, making it vital for us to stand against it beyond 16 days of Activism. Through our #TimeforChange campaign in partnership with Era by DJ Zinhle and Superbalist.com, we have sold a series of limited edition watches, and are proud to present the funds we have raised to Brown in order to aid Green Door with the building extension of the shelter. This is just one of the ways we are working to combat GBV.”

Sharing a thought on the impact of the #TimeforChange campaign, head of Marketing at Superbalist.com, Zubair Noor added – “Gender-based violence continues to be a prevalent issue in our society, and we need to do as much as possible to combat it. Superbalist.com is proud to have partnered with Era by DJ Zinhle and NS Impact Foundation to both raise awareness and funds, a small change that will hopefully make a big difference in the lives of many women and children in need.”

Accepting the donation from NS Impact Foundation CEO Nosipho Fakude, Brown Lekelele had this to say, “As Green Door is at the center of the Diepsloot community, we constantly encounter new cases and victims of gender-based violence. As a small shelter, we are committed to helping women and children from all corners of Diepsloot and can only do that when we receive aid from organisations such as NS Impact Foundation.” Sharing his gratitude for the donation, Brown further stated – “Thank you very much NS Impact Foundation for this donation, and congratulations on a successful #TimeForChange campaign. We will use these funds to further build on the structure here at Green Door in order for us to assist more women and children in future. Thank you.”

Going beyond, NS Impact Foundation together with Era by DJ Zinhle will continue to raise funds that will go towards the anti-GBV shelter through another sale of limited edition #TimeforChange watches.  Partnering again with leading online fashion retailer, Superbalist.com; this exclusive watch represents a declaration and stands as a badge of honour in support against gender-based violence. Through the purchase the #TimeForChange watch, consumers will be raising awareness around the jarring statistics of violent crimes against women and children prevalent in our country, as well as aiding Green Door as it builds an extended bigger shelter to house and protect victims in a space that is safe; and a space that allows for more comfortable refuge.

Unapologetically, the powerful campaign highlights the importance of women in the community and the role they play; it still boldly stands against the outrageous cases of murder, rape and violence being reported in our country daily in the classic Era by DJ Zinhle casing. Serving as reminder, the #TimeForChange watch powerfully captures the important message and reaffirms that a woman is a rock in the popular Zulu saying “Wathint’ abafazi, wathint’ imbokodo.”

NS Impact Foundation encourages all to raise their voice and take a stand against GBV. “Gender-based violence is destroying our homes, our schools, our churches and our communities. Our #TimeForChange campaign is our committed contribution to the struggle against GBV and dedication to all the women and children who have fallen victim to this atrocious injustice,” concludes Fakude.

The #TimeForChange limited edition watch as presented by NS Impact Foundation in partnership with Era by DJ Zinhle, is once again available for purchase through leading online retail store Superbalist.com for a limited time, with all proceeds of the watch going towards a beneficiary, for GBV victims.
