NEW MUSIC: Elaine shares love with her new single Loving You featuring Blxckie

The move to America for singer/songwriter Elaine has come with a lot of opportunities for her. But home is where her heart will always be. That is why the 23-year-old’s first official 2023 song is in collaboration with another Mzansi great Blxckie – known for hits such as Sondela and SETE. Together, the pair has produced the love song Loving You, to which Elaine describes as a song that reassures love among lovers – portrayed by the two singers.

After sending the song out to a couple of local artists, Blxckie was the first to reach out with a version that suits her style.

“He complimented exactly what I had envisioned and the song did not sound like we were in two different places. Blxckie tapped into my world and we together produced such an amazing song,” she said.

With more songs in the pipeline, Elaine is set to introduce her new sound to the world that incorporates amapiano.

“This sound proves what I’ve always said, that I don’t box myself in terms of sound. When you come from a country like South Africa, we have so much diversity and that presents so much variety,” she said.

“This new sound that I am introducing is a fresh take on amapiano meshed with RnB, but the lyrical content is still very much emotional. What people would expect from me. But it’s in the tempo, the qualities of the beats, and the sounds – that is a little more experimental than what people are used to from myself and I think from Blxckie.

Elaine flew back to the United States of America today and while here, while here, she played catch up to a lot of things. Elaine was signed to a US record label, Columbia Records which is responsible for recording international artists such as Beyonce and Adele.

“Catch up with my family and to the sounds here at home that keep evolving,” with her visit lasting for just two months.

And about moving to America, she said it was a difficult yet necessary  one.  “My move to the United States was exciting but equally difficult,” she said laughing.

“I am naturally a homebody, so leaving my place of comfort has been a huge move. But God has really helped me a lot to adjust. One thing that I have quickly picked up is that being in America has motivated me more because I always want to learn something new and bring new information back home.

“I actually sent the song to a couple of people who I thought would sound great on the song and Blxckie was the first to respond. I feel like he took the time to understand me and understand my sound, and how I deliver messages in my music – which is what I was looking for in a collaboration. I didn’t want it to sound like two separate entities, I wanted it to sound like we were in the same room at the same time,” she said.

This is not their first time working together, with Elaine saying they are compatible in and out of the studio.
