Mzansi Actress Simz Ngema acquainted with Thabo Bester and South Africans weigh in
South African actress Simphiwe Ngema has been caught in the cross hairs of the Thabo Best saga.
In a media release, that has since been deleted on a Instagram, the 33-year-old former Muvhango star admitted to being in contact with Bester back in 2018. She claims to have only known him under his many aliases TK Mostepe. A name that has since been revealed to be a fake business name.
“Thabo Bester was working in the entertainment industry and introduced himself as TK Motsepe and that’s how we made contact,” the statement said.
She also reiterated that there was nothing underhanded about her dealings with Thabo in the statement, stating that she was only there to “demand answers” as she was going through a rough patch at the time,” the statement read.
Besters, known as the Facebook rapist, is currently in custody after his escape on May 22, 2022, from the Mangaung Correctional Services. His escape was aided by his girlfriend Dr Nandipha Magudumana. It has been revealed that Besters had since been running false companies under various aliases, including a booking influencers for events. According to the statement, Ngema fell victim of his tricks.
She also reiterated that there was nothing underhanded about her dealings with Thabo, stating that she only visited him in jail to “demand answers” via her payment, as she was going through a rough patch at the time.
“I’ve been extremely open about everything to those that have been investigating and I have nothing to hide,” she said in the statement.
South Africans took to Twitter to weigh in on the now-deleted statement and the development has polarised opinions, with some tweeps been anything but positive.
