Msaki & Jesse Clegg Unravel Love’s Contradictions in “How Dare You” — The Next Chapter of Their Conceptual EP, Entropy
Following the success of Wayside Lover, acclaimed South African artists Msaki and Jesse Clegg unveil the next chapter of their conceptual EP Entropy with the release of their new single, “How Dare You.”
Produced by TRESOR and Batundi, “How Dare You” captures the emotional duality that exists between two people deeply connected yet at odds — a reflection of love’s paradoxical nature. It’s a conversation between two hearts that oscillate between tenderness and tension, between holding on and letting go.

Msaki reflects:
“‘How Dare You’ is such a contradiction of a song. It’s full of push and pull — drowning in ambivalence, denial, indecision, and hurt. In what feels like a cheeky, frustrated moment — annoyed at the realness of a connection — there’s a bite in the lyrics. Nobody seems to be saying what they mean, yet the chorus is wildly honest and vulnerable.
“We found each other in a jaded moment, there is no going back.”
That line offers a kind of truce, a reluctant acceptance. And the outro — ‘Is the feeling, the feeling, the feeling, leaving me now?’ — it’s so simple, but haunting. Are we wishing the feeling away, hoping it stays, or both?”
ABOUT ENTROPY
Entropy is a deeply personal collaboration born from an unexpected but profound creative bond between Msaki and Jesse Clegg. Written across Cape Town, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, and New York, the EP explores themes of loss, transformation, and rebirth.
“To me, Entropy feels like a snapshot of our lives over the past three years of getting to know each other,” shares Jesse Clegg. “It’s about facing tragedy and loss, but also about finding connection in unexpected places.”
