MR EAZI WELCOMES THE NEW YEAR WITH AMAPIANO SINGLE “WERSER”
Nigerian superstar Mr Eazi, real name Oluwatosin Ajibade, has shared his latest single ‘Werser‘.
The feel-good record is the artist’s third take into the popular South African genre amapiano, and succeeds the success of his first ever amapiano record “Patek”, followed by track ‘See Something‘. Having received several accolades by industry colleagues, fans and music critics – Mr Eazi has taken his musical exploration to another level, where he delves into different facets of his artistry, while he is on a mission to “chop life.”

Produced by DJ Tárico, who is renowned for his vast and successful portfolio in amapiano ranging from ‘Patek‘ to ‘Yaba Buluku‘; Werser speaks true to the saying “Never change what works”, evident in the incredible synergy between Mr Eazi and DJ Tárico. The catchy lyrics “situation is getting werser” are perfectly laid on an unmistakable amapiano beat and follows the streak of the other hit records that have already been released.
The single has since garnered a dance routine, created by a Ghanaian dance group, and has already broken the internet – spanning off into hundreds of user-generated videos and millions of views. Mr Eazi responds with a video of himself joining the viral challenge and announcing the official release of ‘Werser‘.
Werser is a rich fusion of the famous South African blow whistle sound, powerful drums and chant-like chorus laced with memorable Ghanaian + Nigeria’s Pidgin slangs. Dabbling into unknown territories, it seems like Mr Eazi has yet again found a way to take his listeners on a trip around Africa.
“This year, I am focusing my energy on creativity and top-line sh*t”, says Mr Eazi as he prepares to follow up his record with an amapiano mixtape in coming months – The pressure indeed is getting werser.
