Miss SA Organisation Announces Miss SA 2024 Mia Le Roux’s Shock Withdrawal From Miss Universe 2024

Just days before the airing of Miss Universe 2024, the Miss South Africa Organisation has announced that this year’s winner of Miss SA Miss Mia Le Roux will no longer be partaking in the ceremony.

The surprising news were shared on social media and on the Organisation’s official website on the morning of the 15th of November. According to the media statement, Le Roux has withdrawn from the spectacle due to undisclosed health concerns.

“It is with deep regret that we share the news that Mia Le Roux, Miss South Africa 2024, has had to withdraw from the Miss Universe competition due to health concerns,” said the statement.

This year’s winner had a few words to share concerning the withdrawal, expressing her gratitude for being afforded the chance to nurse herself back to health.

“I am profoundly thankful for the unwavering support from South Africa during my time at Miss Universe. Making this decision has been incredibly challenging, knowing the dreams and hopes that have been placed upon me. However, I am deeply grateful to have the opportunity to focus on my health and recovery so that I may continue to serve my country with full strength,” she said.

The Organisation affirmed Le Roux’s decision, offering words of encouragement in the statement.

“The Miss South Africa Organisation states, “Mia has shown incredible courage and grace throughout this difficult period. Her health and well-being are our utmost priority, and we stand by her side, dedicated to ensuring she regains her strength and returns to full health. Our hearts are with her as she takes the necessary steps toward recovery,” said the statement.

Le Roux was set to take off to Mexico for the 73rd installment of Miss Universe, which will be contested by 125 countries at Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
