Minnie Dlamini Rebukes MacG’s “Hollow” Apology and Pursues Legal Action
Presenter and TV personality Minnie Dlamini has finally broken her silence. Following the derogatory comments made against her body and her previous relationship by MacGyver “MacG” Mukwevho on Podcast and Chill, Dlamini issued a statement via her social media accounts to set the record straight on her feelings concerning the things aired about her on the segment of the podcast, as well as the legal action she’d be taking against MacG for his words.
MacG claimed that Minnie could not keep a relationship allegedly because her privates didn’t smell pleasant. The comment sparked debates and discourse all over the socials, with the backlash mainly being aimed at MacG, who, in the following weeks, seemingly doubled down on his words by retrospectively promoting his book Uncancelable: The Rise of MacG in response to calls for him to be cancelled.
The saga even culminated in talks of MacG being possibly summoned to Parliament to account for his comments, although the endeavor, championed by Steve Letsike, Minister of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities, was dismissed in a Portfolio Committee meeting between Members of Parliament.

Throughout this period, Minnie kept her peace and offered no commentary, instead she seemingly funnelled all her energies into celebrating her personal victories, including being the cover star for the latest installment of TRUELOVE magazine.
In her statement, Dlamini rebuked the comments made against her body, calling MacG’s words “grotesque and deeply harmful” and decrying the fact that her body was objectified and reduced to content for laughs.
“While I have chosen not to dignify the specifics with a response, I must emphasize that there is nothing entertaining or provocative about weaponizing a women’s body for clout, commentary, or so-called content. What occurred was not banter – it was a grotesque and deeply harmful violation of my dignity, my humanity, and my constitutional rights as a woman,” she said.

While she has confirmed that she has received an apology from MacG (not only from the show), Minnie expressed that the gesture was hollow and without any remorseful substance.
“I have received an apology from Podcast and Chill via their attorneys. An apology, offered only after the damage is done and reputations are on the line, is not a meaningful act of accountability, especially when it comes from a platform that has made misogyny part of its brand. This was not a lapse in judgement. It was a reflection of values consistently displayed and defended by the show and its host.
“To apologize now, only when public pressure threatens their image, is to centre their own reputational damage rather than the trauma inflicted on others. And so I must say clearly: words without genuine accountability are hollow,” she said.
She made it clear that her next step was to pursue legal action on the matter.
“I will continue to purse legal recourse. Because as a public figure and a mother, I must act not only for myself but for every woman whose dignity is violated in the name of content and entertainment,” she said.
