Mall of Africa Invaded with Pink As Barbie Fever Hits the Town
In anticipation of the official screening of the cinematic Barbie filmon 21 July 2023, Warner Bros Films and Mattel hosted a premier screening of the movie on Wednesday, 19 July 2023. Courtesy of Warner Music Africa, the event was also furnished with the official Barbie soundtrack to liven up the atmosphere.
Mall of Africa was a pink paradise as celebrations of the film’s premier hit the venue. The spectacle was hosted by radio presenter Zanele Potelwa, who was supported by official event partners such as Sorbet, Simonsing, Brutal Fruit, and Essence Cosmetics.
The occasion was graced with the presence of stars, including Faith Nketsi, Kim Jade, Pamela Mtanga, Moshe Ndiki, and Lethabo Shai, among others.
Keeping with the whimsical theme of the movie, the event supplied all guests with make-up and manicure stations and human-size Barbie boxes perfect as photographic prompts. Apart from these, Warner Music Africa also supplied branded popcorn boxes with special QR codes for pre-saving the official soundtrack album.
Barbie: The Album was the theme music of the night, which included tracks by Nicki Minaj, Dua Lipa, Lizzo, and Charlie XCX. The music was meant to whet the appetites of Barbie fanatics as the full-length album, due for release on the 21st of July, includes acts such as Khalid, Ava Max, and The Kid LAROI among others.
