Major League DJz release their first single for the year All Night Long

After months of impactful collaborations with various creatives, the Major League DJz have released their first 2023 musical offering in the form of a single. Titled All Night Long, the song employs the help of DJ and producer Yumbs and the vocals of one of South Africa’s greatest exports, Elaine on vocals.

Describing the song, the twins – real names Bandile and Banele Mbere – said the song is a celebration of black love and romance which adds onto their quest to make timeless music.

The song marks the beginning of songs lined up this year.

“The two creatives we are working with bring individualized elements to the song that add something distinct. Elaine is a soulful R&B singer and Yumbs is a soulful beat maker. The aim was to create a sound that would resonate with all soulful music lovers,” they said.

All Night Long is reminiscent of when someone is in love and feels like it’s a dream you don’t want to wake up from. A whimsical love that most people crave – making this single a hopeless romantic’s dream song.

“We wanted to tell a story and the energy they both brought to the song gave us a timeless offering that captures something special. The song was inspired by our quest to create timeless love music that resonates with lovers everywhere,” they added.

Marking this as their first release, the twins have been booked and busy; having successfully released the Piano Republik, a joint project with the Jamaican-American electronic dance music and DJ trio Major Lazor and also presenting LIVE shows globally.

For the past years, the duo have been relentless on their journey of taking Mzansi’s extremely unique sound amapiano to the world, dubbing the journey as a mind-altering experience.

“The journey has been eye opening for us, and being able to take such a powerful African sound to the world has been electrifying. South Africa is a really talented nation and for us to be able to bring it to the world is a privilege. The truth is, we’ve found our competitive advantage in this genre and are prepared to push forward.

The song, another of their masterpieces, is another song that was inspired by time and place.

Although All Night Long was recorded in Los Angeles, the song feels like a hot night out in Johannesburg, with Elaine’s intoxicating vocals as the driving force as she sings ‘If this is a dream don’t wake me up’.

The duo have a lot of planned projects in the pipeline for this year, including a new Balcony Mix. They are currently in the US on their tour that began last month.
