MacG’s Podcast and Chill Goes to TV
MacG might have been cancelled a number of times, but his latest TV deal is likely to make up for all of that. The controversial host of Podcast and Chill has announced that his popular YouTube show will now be broadcasting on Channel O.
“It is with great pleasure to announce that @podcastwithmacg has a new home, 21h30pm every Wednesday @ChannelOTV from 1st Sep. Shout out to All Chillers worldwide, The Podcast Team, and Channel O “The revolution will be televised,” he wrote.
The show is known for its candid, unfiltered discussions and many have criticized it for it’s offensiveness. His “everyone has f****d Boity [Thulo]” comment sparked outrage Thando Thabete has famously called out the show for its homophobic, but was quickly shut down by MacG with scathing clapbacks.

“I mean Thando fking Thabooty. What the f** is Thando doing? I run across her numbers for her podcast the other day and I wish I could unsee that; they are horrible. It just shows that nobody wants to hear what she has to say.
“She must just take her nudes and post them on Instagram, nobody gives a f***. That’s why 5FM demoted her to the graveyard slot, because she is a scam”, he said.
When MacG and his co-host Sol Phenduka freely discussed famous figures dating transgender people, they used derogatory terms like “shemales” and “woman with a d**k” and got some laughs out of the conversation.
The episode was soon followed by backlash and Old Mutual terminating its contract with the podcast.
Earlier in his career as a Yfm DJ, MacG was fired for a homophobic comment where he stated “I hate gay people”.
Despite the backlash, it seems MacG and his show remain unscathed by the criticism. Nomsa Philiso, the director of local entertainment channels at M-Net, praised the show for it’s candness.
“We love giving our viewers content that is relevant, relatable and topical, and Podcast and Chill with MacG is exactly that. The interviews are always candid, interesting and impossible to ignore. The chemistry between MacG and his guests makes for great television and we’re thrilled to have them join Channel O,” says Nomsa.
While this may be a big win for MacG, fans are worried that the show will likely be watered down. Check out some of the comments below.
