“Jungle Oats in Edenvale”: South Africans React to Another Alleged Loose Tiger Scare in Jozi
A few weeks after the Sheba fiasco, which led to the unfortunate death of many animals, including the tigress herself, Johannesburg was rocked by another tiger scare. On Monday morning, the now-recaptured tiger was sighted on Cabot Road, Eastleigh Ridge in Edenvale.
In a 49-second CCTV clip, the feline could be seen prowling around a residence, circling a white Hyundai.
As always, South Africans chose to see the funny side of the story. Tweeps chimed in and threw in a few slick comments regarding the early morning bustle trending under #Edenvale and #Tiger.

During an interview with News24, Gary Wilson from Swat SOS 24/7 gave updates concerning the tiger. He said that the animal had been recaptured, sedated, and would be relocated elsewhere safer.
“The tiger has been sedated; it’s being taken to a safe sanctuary. [The tiger’s] well and in good condition. Thanks to all the people who’ve come out today looking for the tiger. You wouldn’t expect a tiger on a Monday morning in Edenvale. But it’s ended well. Tiger is safe. We’re not giving out further details,” Wilson said.
