ICYMI: Denise Zimba Crashes Out on Social Media After Discovering Her Longtime Bestie Was Involved In Her Ex Husband’s Cheating Ways
From the shock double passing of SA music legends Winnie Khumalo and Doc Shebeleza, to the reported arrest of one of the country’s most polarising and controversial bloggers and social media personality Musa Khawula, last week was an eventful one. TV personality and actress Denise Zimba found herself at the center of the X storm, when she dropped the bombshell of her longtime best friend, named Mpumi Mdluli, having an affair with her ex-husband Jakob Schlitchtig while they were still married, and displaying signs of visible disturbance emotionally.
While the pair divorced in 2024 officially after she allegedly caught him masturbating while texting another woman – this being after months of separation – Zimba seemed to have made a delayed connection concerning her husband’s philandering ways.
Taking to X, Zimba expressed dismay over making the revelation that her best friend since they were teens was involved in her husband’s cheating. She also spoke about how it all now made sense why she was never around for her milestones such as birthdays, bridal and baby showers, and the like.
“Nothing worse than finding out your best friend since you were 14 years old, has been having an affair with your husband, and that’s why she always ghosted you when you were pregnant and never celebrated you – birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers…” she said.
She also shared screenshots of the day of the wedding from her friend’s now-locked Instagram account, commenting on the things she said on the special day.
And while Mpumi herself responded to the situation by shutting off her Instagram account to strangers and people who aren’t already following her, she hasn’t issued any statement or made any comment concerning the matter.
Mzansi netizens sympathised with Denise’s situation, expressing their sorrow concerning Denise’s latest posts, particularly highlighting the cruelty of her being betrayed by people who were supposed to be her most fierce protectors and lovers.

@ThembaRumbu empathised with Zimba’s double loss, and said: “Denise Zimba situation is so heartbreaking cause the possibility of losing a bestfriend and husband at once is just too messed up.”
