Hulisani Ravele bids the on-air streets adieu!

Seasoned radio and TV personality, Hulisani Ravele, has announced her planned departure from 947 on September 30th, thus marking the beginning of her sabbatical from both the airwaves and the television screens. This recess comes after a colourful and fruitful 26 year long career that has seen the 35-year-old transition into varying platforms. The years have cemented her name among the many talented in our country.

Ravele made her debut TV appearance at the age of 9-year-old on SABC 1’s YOTV  and has since worked her way up to occupying prominent radio slots on Mzansi’s radio stations, including her five year tenure on Primedia’s 947 where she will be hanging her headsets at the end of the month.

In a media statement shared on both X and Instagram, Ravele said she was grateful for the love and support that she had received from the industry, with this departure dubbed as a time to embrace stillness, introspection and the pursuit of new opportunities.

“This break is not just a pause, but an opportunity to delve into new experiences and discover what the future holds. I am excited to see what this journey takes me,” part of the statement reads.

She is also honoured of having being a part of 947’s impeccable achievement of surpassing its 1million mark for P7D listenership, and being able to maintain that position, dubbing that feat as an achievement she holds dear to her heart.
