Four housemates Evicted as the Big Brother House turns up the heat

If yesterday was anything to go by on Big Brother Mzansi, the game’s heat has clearly been turned up a notch keeping up with its tag Sya Mosha. Last night, four contestants namely Chuenzaaa, Meelay, Mich, and Taki, were eliminated from the bagging that R2 million grand prize at the end of the season, leaving 13 contestants still in the running.

We caught up with Taki and Mich on their journey that ended 41 days later.

Taki’s take

Moving from being a disruptor to an actual contestant and now being eliminated, Taki describes his journey in the house as a rollercoaster ride.

Looking back, he is proud of all that he had done in a house that he describes as extremely toxic.

“Hmm, when it’s bad it is bad. If I could paint a picture for you, you know how everyone has that family member they don’t like? Imagine being stuck with that person for 24 hours with them, being trapped in a room with them and can’t escape them? That is exactly how that house felt like sometimes. I did appreciate the fact that we were able to come together and do tasks,” adding that he had built a genuine brotherhood/friendship with Sinaye and McJunior which he is grateful for.

Taki was the last disruptor standing, voted for by the public to stay after Neo and Fahima were evicted. He shares that he doubted his own abilities to be a disruptor and when he actually succeeded on tasks – that opened him up on his own abilities to thrive.

He revealed that his in-house romance with Neo was a real one that led him to tears when the contestant was evicted.

“When Neo left, I was so distraught but I quickly had to bring myself back because I am still in a competition. And then suddenly, most of the women who were left suddenly came up to me to flirt,” he said laughing. “It was open season somehow,” he continued. But he expressed yesterday on the Big Brother stage that he would like to pursue something real with Neo.

The 24-year-old entertainer, who hails from – is looking to take his entertainment career much more seriously and looks at venturing into presenting more.

Taking the prize in the end, Taki bets his money on two people – McJunior and Mpumi.

“McJunior is extremely strategic and smart and Mpumi is undercover smart. She is super strategic, the way she was breaking down the whole Jarred situation told me how smart she is. All along, I thought she had caught feelings for Jareed but she actually viewed it from the point of view that what Jareed had going with Liema would be primetime news everyday. So how does she make sure that she is part of the talks. She also shared with me that she could see that Jareed was looking at her and that he wanted her, and played on that,” he said.

Mich on the Mic

Mich on the other hand said stepping into the elevators after being evicted felt like a coffin as closing in on him.

“I was numb. I did not expect it and I felt like my dreams were being shattered. I remember telling Yolanda that we are safe and I really thought my game was too good so I was shocked when my name was called out.

“The win was not only going to be just for me but it was going to change my family’s lives. I wanted a car, I wanted my own apartment and a way to start my life but I believe everything happens for a reason,” he said.

Mich was super close to Yolanda, with talks in the house that the two influenced each other. He clears those rumours once and for all.

“Yolanda and I just understood each other from the get-go. I remember saying to her how I saw myself in her and that is why I got everything about her. Her loudness, her sense of humour –  everything. I just understood her,” adding that people like Lerato and Liema should butt out of their business.

“Liema must just focus on being played by Jareed and I’d expect someone like Lerato to be negative because she is a negative person overall,” responding to the two contestant’s comments last night to Yolanda after the eviction live show.

“We were just two powerful people who confused the house as to who was controlling who. But the truth is that no one was, we just gelled that well,” he added.

He also adds that everything about him in the house was real and he believes Mzansi is all about realness.

“This year moving forward, I’d like to realise some of my dreams that I have like DJing and hosting. And then next year, I’ll go back to school to complete my studies at the University of Mpumalanga. I had to halt everything this year for the show but I am determined to complete what I started.”

He has his votes behind Makhekhe and, you guessed it, Yolanda saying that they were the realist in the house according to him.

“Like I said, I believe Mzansi recognizes and loves real people and I too love real people. So I will be voting for those two like crazy to make sure they win,” he said.
