Donald Trump to Be the 47th US President After Winning the 2024 Presidential Election

Donald Trump has won the 60th quadrennial US Presidential Election and will be making a return to the White House.

After securing the much-needed 270 electoral votes to place the Republican Party over the Democrats, as represented by outgoing vice president of the United States Kamala Harris, Trump will be heading back to Washington D.C. for his second non-consecutive term.

Trump was the 45th president of the United States after winning the 2016 presidential election, serving his first term alongside his vice president Mike Pence from 2017 to 2021.

With the victory of the 2024 presidential election, the incoming president will overtake incumbent president Joe Biden as the oldest president of the United States, with Trump being 78 years of age at the time of nomination to run for the seat.

With over 71 million Americans favouring the red party at the ballot stations countrywide and those abroad, Trump has already won 277 electoral votes, leading Harris with 224 electoral votes.

Trump took over all the key swing states to widen the berth between himself and Harris before claiming Wisconsin, which gave him 10 electoral votes, thus handing the Republican Party the victory, as reported by the Associated Press.

Trump and his vice president JD Vance will be sworn in as the 47th president and the 5oth vice president of the United States, respectively, on the 25th of January 2025.

Votes are still being counted.
