DJ Tira Threatens Legal Action Against Luke Ntombela For Allegations Made Against Him

Durban record producer and deck master DJ Tira has responded to allegations levelled against him by musician Luke Ntombela.

On the 8th of May 2024, Ntombela took to Facebook and Instagram to air her grievances against the Afrotainment mainstay. Armed with screenshots of recorded conversations between herself and DJ Tira as well as his associates, Luke accused the music executive of raping her when she mysteriously woke up next to him allegedly drugged after they’d partied together.

The screenshots followed a long trail of social media posts of more screengrabs in which Luke made various attempts to reach out to the DJ with hopes of eliciting an apology as well as closure from him. None of which she got.

After days of silence, Tira has taken the legal route against the accusations and the comments Luke has directed towards him,

DJ Tira has responded to Luke Ntombela in the same token, using his social media accounts to post a formal demand letter geared towards addressing the allegations made against him.

In the lawyer’s letter, Ntombela has been formally requested to not only desist from making any more “unfounded allegations” but to also retract her “defamatory allegations” against Tira. The legal team also referenced Luke’s interview with Ukhozi FM over the weekend in which she doubled down on the allegations she’d already made of DJ Tira sexually assaulting her. The document stated that she is to conduct another interview with the same radio station and “offer an unconditional apology.”

“Our clients have advised us of continuous assassination of their characters and brand perpetuated by your posts on various social media accounts of unfounded, baseless, and defamatory allegations against them. Such conduct from you is causing serious and severe harm to our clients’ esteemed brand and reputation.

“It is our further instructions [SIC] that you were on Ukhozi FM Radio station and again made serious, baseless, and unfounded defamatory statements against our clients. It became apparent from the Ukhozi FM Radio station interview that your allegations were devoid of substance and logic, but full of malic and desire to blackmail our clients into paying you money for undetermined reasons under the guise of our client owing you some money for performing musical exercises.

“It is therefore our instruction to demand as we hereby do, that you desist from this unlawful conduct of publishing and peddling these malicious and unfounded allegations against our client[s]. We further demand that you publish a retraction of such malicious and defamatory statements against our clients, through the same social media you had used to publish them, You must further conduct a radio interview through the same radio station [to] retract the interview you conducted and offer an unconditional apology.” the demand letter said.

According the document, Ntombela now has seven days to oblige to the demands made lest she face legal action from failing to co-operate.

Luke Ntombela has only responded to the release of the document by sharing it on her Facebook and Instagram accounts, although she hasn’t apologised for her actions as yet.

This is a developing story,
