Bonni Bee and Savage the First to Be Ousted from the Big Brother House

After a dramatic two weeks of umlilo in the Big Brother Mzansi house, this past Sunday’s eviction night of Season 5 was a double whammy, which saw Mzansi bid farewell to the resident muscle man Savage and unapologetic instigator Bonni Bee.

The pair were up for eviction alongside Uyanda, Abobo, Nate, as well as Nsuku, with the first-mentioned in the list being put up on the chopping block in place of Ezra, who was saved by this week’s Head of House.

This week’s eviction ceremony came as a shocker to housemates, who were graciously given a chance to breath and live life in the mansion after Biggie decided to suspend evictions after the first week.

Taking to Smash Afrika on-stage, Bonni Bee assumed her signature attitude of living life without apology, accepting the eviction with grace while expressing hopes of making it in the silver-screen industry, particularly as an actress. Embodying self-confidence, she boasted about how her eviction was proof that the housemates could not handle the fire she brought on the show.

“I’m definitely not disappointed but also not relieved. I just know the people in the house couldn’t handle my heat I knew this from day one. So me being here, I don’t feel like I failed myself. Instead, out of the whole of South Africa I made it into the house even for 2 weeks, I was able to shine and I’m still gonna thrive,” she said in her interview with Afrika.

Bonni Bee was issued a strike and a punishment, alongside Ash-Ley Ogle, for using fellow housemate Kay B’s past experience with sexual violation against her. Bee left the house without having apologised to Kay B for her misconduct.

Savage took his eviction in stride, although his face showed visible surprise, especially after being the first one to be called out by Smash.

“I definitely never saw this one coming. Eventually everyone has to leave. Everyone gets their time but this is the beginning of success,” he said.
