BBMzansi: Mmeli Escapes Eviction as HoH, While the Rest of the Housemates Are Nominated
The anticipated week five Head of House challenge concluded with Mmeli claiming the crown. The competition kicked off with housemates paired with their “Cuff It” partners. In round one, the housemates were catching balls while wearing oversized pants. Round two they competed individually in the Sweet Guessing Game, estimating the number of sweets in a jar. In round three, the Straw Dash tested balance and precision as the top four carried straws from point A to point B using only their upper lips.
The final showdown pitted Mmeli and Thandeka against each other in the Clingwrap challenge, racing to wrap a mannequin completely using an entire roll of clingwrap. Any strategy was allowed, and Mmeli’s speed and precision secured him the win, earning the coveted HoH badge.
Next up were the live nominations, featuring a hidden twist with the introduction of a wheel. As HoH, Mmeli spun the nomination wheel, and in a dramatic turn, it landed on every housemate being up for possible eviction. Each housemate was then given two minutes to speak, reflecting on their journey in the house so far.
Ramona shared how she’d seen 20 people struggle to co-exist, admitting she felt excluded due to her age but gained confidence in herself, while Bravo B said he was focusing on positivity and loving everyone in the house. Neliswa reflected on her personal growth, patience, and newfound friendships, naming Ilano, Trixie and Liema as people she’d like to keep close outside. On the other hand, Didi compared life in the house to high school, staying considerate even when others weren’t, and said gossip only made her more popular outside.
King Wanda appreciated the friends he’d made despite normally struggling to fit in, noting he felt some distance from Mmeli and Dube, whereas Liema highlighted lessons on friendship, honesty, and staying true to herself. Trixie said she entered the house to remain relevant, apologised to Ramona for any feelings of exclusion, and admitted her heart had opened in ways she hadn’t expected. The Don, avoiding conflict, never expected to reach week five, and encouraged lasting friendships beyond the house.

Ilano asked for help performing her song “I’m a survivor’” and reflected on her challenges as the first trans woman in the house, reaffirming her pride in her community. Que shared that entering the house was a leap of faith and that he usually shies away from drama but had to face it head-on. Tumi the Barber noted that housemates like Ashay reminded him that not everyone disliked him and stressed the importance of healthy competition.
Mmeli admitted he remained calm and focused this season, encouraging fun and memories over cutthroat gameplay. and Thandeka reflected on learning to thrive by depending on others. Lastly, Ashay had the housemates repeat his mantra, “If you have, you have,” and gave a loving shoutout to Tamica.
