BBMzani’s Sya’Mosha crowns McJunior as ultimate winner, as the show continues to trend

Seventy days after the launch of the Big Brother Mzansi Sya Mosha competition, the underdog McJunior came up on top as the ultimate winner. The KwaZulu Natal-born contestant, an introvert as he describes himself, walked away with the R2M prize, beating the fan favorites Zee, Makhekhe, Mpumi, Sinaye, and Papa Ghost.

Real name Siphephelo Zondi, the 25-year-old also walked away with three more checks that he won for his efforts in the Friday night arena games and tasks, winning the overall prize money by a very close difference of 0.07% between him and Makhekhe.

Responding to BBMzansi’s host Lawrence Maleka’s questions about what he meant by ‘I don’t think people don’t vote for someone like me’, he said: “I still maintain what I told Big Brother in my last diary session that people don’t vote for people like me. I am still shocked. You know, as an introvert, you generally have confidence issues. I am walking around with this pout; I am not saying jack to anybody; I thoroughly believe that I will not make it,” and by him he meant someone who keeps to himself more often.

“It was crazy to think there were people voting and believing that I belonged there. I think authenticity kept me in the house; maybe it was introverts that united, and also the drive that I portrayed day in and day out.

“There was no game plan; there was no strategy. The strategy was being me throughout the house,” he said.

He also opens up about his dislike for Papa Ghost, labeling him an “abrasive character” and adding that he has no intentions of keeping any relationships with any of the housemates. Or maybe Fahima isn’t sure.

“I have zero intentions to be a celebrity; that is not why I came here. I came here for the money so I could venture into business. That is my plan,” he said.

Two days after the finale, #BBMzansi is still trending with fans coming together to raise funds for Makhekhe, like they did with Themba Broly last year. The fund is already sitting at 19,493.05.

According to McJunior, Makhekhe (real name: Tshepo Tau) was the only real competition that he had in the house.

Second runner-up Makhekhe

“I knew that dude was bad; I knew in my heart that he was bad. You just had to sit with him for a few minutes, and the personality that came through—that dude is bad. If it wasn’t him, it was going to be Brave B,” sharing also that he told Makhekhe on Saturday evening that if it wasn’t him, it would be him.

Makhekhe, on the other hand, continues to be a fan favorite, with some congratulating him for getting this far and being an inspiration for many.

Fans of the show, family, previous contestants and evicted housemates of the Sya’Mosha season descended the Altitude Beach this past Sunday to watch the live show. See images below of some of the attendees.
