Ayra Starr Makes Directorial Debut in “Bloody Samaritan”

Africa’s fastest-rising musician, Ayra Starr, made her directorial debut with the newly released ‘Bloody Samaritan’ music video. The visuals for the anthemic song, taken off her debut album 19 & Dangerous,  bring the single to life and position Ayra as one to watch.

“Bloody Samaritan” is a fierce track that speaks to the importance of shedding and avoiding negative energy. The song is currently enjoying airplay on over 35 popular radio stations across the country such as Gagasi FM, Phalaphala FM and YFM just to highlight a few.

The video for the single marks Ayra’s directorial debut. Debuting a brand-new red hairstyle, Ayra is seen with an army of like-minded Gen-Z individuals, staking their claim as a generation of authoritative and self-assured disruptors. Elsewhere, Ayra highlights her lauded dance skills with Arabic-inspired choreography that brings to mind Beyonce’s ‘Baby Boy’ and Shakira’s ‘Whenever, Wherever’.

“It’s beautiful to see the ideas I had for a song that has a strong message of self-empowerment to myself and others while tackling naysayers be brought to life. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed scheming, directing, and shooting it,” shares Ayra Starr.
