Apple Releases SA’s Most Streamed Music
Apple Music released SA’s most streamed artists, albums, and songs in honour of heritage month. The list revealed that amapiano dominates as a genre in SA and that local hip hop had a relatively small influence over the country’s musical interests.
Several artists responded, including Cassper Nyovest, who claimed that SA hip hop needs him.
Among SA’s R&B artists, Elaine’s album Elements took the number one spot as Apple’s most streamed SA Album of all time. Her single “You’re the one” sold more than 210 000 copies as per South Africa’s recording industry authority standards and gained multi-platinum status.In response to Apple Music’s list, Elaine thanked each and every one of her fans.

In the particular category of most streamed local artists on Apple Music, Kabza came in at number one. The artists continues to release exceptional pieces under Scorpion Kings with DJ Maphorisa as well as songs that captivate SA music lovers in collabs with artists like TRESOR and Ami Faku.

Black Coffee and David Guetta took first place with their song “Drive” featuring Delilah Montagu. The much loved song of 2018 mesmerised listeners with it’s sultry dance sounds and poignant lyrics.
