AKA and Thando Thabethe Interview Gets Heated
There’s no denying the personal trials that rapper AKA has faced in 2021. After the passing of his fianceé, Anele “Nelli” Tembe, on 11 April 2021, the strained side of their relationship was revealed through video footage of AKA breaking down a door to get to a frightened Nelli as well allegations from an anonymous family member and friend which portray AKA as abusive towards his fianceé.
After a series of exposés on their tumultuous relationship, AKA had a sit down interview with television anchor Thembi Mrototo to address allegations and the news surrounding it.
The Supa Mega star is, however, steadily making a musical comeback and he’s setting the record straight regarding recent events while he’s at it. While promoting his latest EP in collaboration with Costa Titch, he quickly let 94.7 radio host Thando Thabethe know that his experiences with Nelli were “nobody’s business”.
“We have to speak about the elephant in the room. You had a sit down with one of our own, Thembekile Mrototo, and a lot of people felt like you said nothing in the interview,” Thando said.
“So?” the rapper replied.
“Do you feel a need to say anything about the incident?” asked Thando.
“You wanna call it an incident. This is my life, bro. To you it’s an incident.”
Thando continued to prod AKA regarding the matter, but AKA only resisted and shut down the questions by saying “It’s none of your business. It’s nobody’s business but my own. It is something I am living with in my life. It’s none of your business.”
