Advocate Malesela Withdraws As Counsel In Senzo Meyiwa Murder Trial Owing To State & Court Harrassment

In a dramatic turn of events Advocate Malesela Teffo has informed the court that he is withdrawing as counsel of accused one to four in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial citing ongoing harassment from the state and the court as the reasons behind his decision. Teffo will return to his role as watching brief on behalf of the Meyiwa family.

Earlier on Tuesday, he brought forward a letter written by accused number three regarding the “inhumane” living conditions at Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Services and after questioning his client Mthobisi Mncube on the unbearable living conditions, Teffo shook High Court announcing his withdrawal from the case.

Tefflo subsequently accused President Cyril Ramaphosa, among those who would like the five accused to take the fall for Meyiwa’s murder and alleges that Judge Tshifhiwa Maumela is also part of the cabal that wants him removed from this case.

He will continue as a watching brief in case 375 matter where Kelly Khumalo, her mother Gladness and sister Zandi are among the accused.

The presidency took to social media to publish a response to the accusations levelled by Tefflo denying his involvement in the ongoing intimidation and attempts to remove the advocate from the high-profile case. This is a developing story.
