A New Shekhinah Returns to the Music Scene

Back to the Beach star, Shekhinah has returned to the music scene with her long-waited album “Trouble in Paradise”. This sophomore album is an indication of the singer’s evolution as an artist as it is more experimental and delves into deeper and more mature themes surrounding heartbreak and love.

The 12-track album explores the lows and highs of falling in love, the pain of losing it and coming out of it and reconciling with the self after heartbreak.

“My new project Trouble in Paradise is a continuation of my first album Rose Gold which spoke to blissful ignorance. The idea is that all that was Rose Gold is now ablaze. Paradise is no longer the place it used to be and trouble has come. Red for me signifies the burning of paradise,” the singer said around the time she released the visuals for her new single Fixate.

The singer also stated that the new album explored the themes of resilience and rebirth, which definitely speak to the growth and struggles that the “Rose Gold” star had to endure over the past few years.

In an interview on IOL, the singer spoke about how the album was formed “organically”, with a lot of breaks in between as she was processing the events in her life. She says she has had to burn a lot of bridges in her life and had experienced a lot since the launch of her debut album in 2017.

“I’m really slow, like just in general – as a person. So it took me a long time to be able to say, ’Okay, this is how I feel … l This is what I’m going through … I said, ’You’ve made some mistakes, you’ve made some blunders,’ and then I’d sing about it, and sing about it from a well-informed perspective,” she said.

“Trouble in Paradise” consists of the already popular single known as Fixate, featuring Bey T. Break up songs that are sure to resonate with fans are Questions, Fall Apart and Pick Up which features artist Una Rams.

Fans can listen to “Trouble in Paradise” on all streaming platforms.
