Mzansi split over a death allegedly connected to Sizok’thola while Moja Love continues its investigation
With the news of the death of the alleged drug dealer, Robert “Kicks” Varrie who appeared on the popular Moja Love TV show Sizok’thola have made the rounds, fans of the show seem to be in full support of presenter Xolani Khumalo.
According to news reports Varrie allegedly died one of Sizok’thola’s drug investigations. Furthermore, he (Varrie) was allegedly rushed to Thelle Mogoerane regional hospital in Vosloorus where he died, with police investigating a case of murder in connection with the incident.
A media statement issued by the channel does confirm that their crew was within the vicinity of the premises when the deceased was being questioned but are still conducting further investigations surrounding the circumstances that may have led to the need for the deceased to be allegedly rushed to hospital. They await official autopsy results for the cause of death.
“We understand that during the bust, which was conducted within the confines of the law, the suspected drug dealer, now the deceased, who is now known as Robert ‘Kicks’ Varrie resisted to cooperate with the lawful instructions of the recognized members of the community policing forum, who were dressed in their uniforms and had their credentials. Following persistence by the members of the community policing forum, the deceased agreed to hand over the illegal drugs that he had been hiding at the premises. (sic)
“The channel will cooperate with any investigations that may be initiated and it sends its condolences to the deceased’s family. The channel is also offering the crew and any other interested individuals counseling assistance following news of the deceased,” the statement further read.
Sizok’thola has made waves in Mzansi for its drug-busting missions across various parts of the country, with many congratulating its efforts in trying to curb drugs.
While some have since called for the show to be canceled, many others have pledged their support towards the show and the presenter under the #HandsOffXolani hashtag.
