Actress Nolwazi Shange Ngubeni leaves eTV’s soapie Scandal! on a high

Season actress Nolwazi Shange Ngubeni, who had Scandal viewers at the edge of their seats for the last couple of months, will unfortunately bow out of the show.

This grand finale marks the end of an intense season of her journey, portraying the overly ambitious and manipulative Mbali Kubeka, who is obsessed over her ex husband Jojo Kubeka and will do anything to keep him. Even faking a pregnancy.

The accomplished 39-year-old actress joined eTV’s popular show last year and in just a few months, shy of a year, she has further cemented her name as an actress.

“Being on Scandal! has been one of the greatest joys of my career. I truly appreciate the immense support the producers, cast and crew have shown me. I walk away with fond memories as I prepare to take on the next phase of my journey. Thank you to all the viewers for watching and consistently supporting my work. Onwards and upwards,” said Shange Ngubeni.

The multi talented thespian became a household name when she bagged herself a SAFTA for her role in the 2008 production A Place Called Home, which led to earning a place on the television screens locally and abroad. She also featured in 2011 drama film Otelo Burning – which earned her two nominations for Best Actress at the South African Film and Television Awards and at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (best actress in a feature film).

Productions under her belt include Single Guyz, Nothing for Mahala, Mzali Wami while also juggling multi hats including being casting director in productions such as The Chemo Club, Farewell Ella Bella, MTV Shuga, AboMama, Umlilo and also, the multi-award winning soap opera Rhythm City.

As she leaves Scandal!, the multi-talented thespian will continue her journey as casting director in the new season of Mzansi Magic’s telenovela Umkhokha while also acting in another production that is yet to be announced.
