This coming Saturday musician and philosopher, Neo Muyanga and guitarist and conscious thinker, Xhanti Nokwali light up the streets of Braamfontein with an offering at the Untitled Basement. They are joined by DJ’S Sumthin Brown and iamsiwas who will keep the vibe flowing until late.

Neo Muyanga is a composer and installation artist who works at the confluence of pop, new opera and African idiomatic song. He is one half of BLK Sonshine and the co-founder of the Pan African Space Station alongside Ntone Edjabe. His article in the Herri Journal was the most read in 2021. He is a mentor of the ALTBLK>> family and an incredible musician and philosopher.

One could easily coin Xhanti Nokwali’s craft under ‘singer-songwriter’, though his approach to creating his music is multi-layered. What inspires him the most are his experiences with abantu, Pan-Africanism and a deep introspection of self.
His debut single, Intlokomo from his upcoming album, Umthombo was released in 2021.
